Winter pleased with Cup win

Leopards’ guard Roy Winter was pleased with the Big Cats’ performance as they powered their way into the National Cup quarter finals with a comfortable win against Nottingham Hoods:
“As a team we started the game brilliantly once again, we racked up stops on the defensive end which led to a lot of easy fast break points” he said.
“When we did have to slow it down into the half court we moved the ball well to find the best look possible for our team.
“It was great to have such sparks off the bench as well, players came on and made contributions on both ends of the floor which helped us increase our lead into half-time.
“Much like we’ve done in previous games, the third quarter was extremely strong for us, it seemed to me like we went through a five minute phase without missing.
“However in the fourth the Hoods rallied and pushed heavily on the offensive end, dialling in from behind the three point line.
“For us the fourth should have been when we put the game to bed finally but instead we took our foot off the gas a bit, this will have to be something we work on in the future if we want to have success in this league and continue our cup run. Overall it was a very positive performance from the team and a lot to build from.”
