Seth joins coaching team

Essex & Herts Leopards are pleased to announce the appointment of Seth Jones as Assistant Coach for the 2019/20 season.
Jones will join the Leopards’ coaching staff from neighbour club the Chelmsford Lions. Over the last 3-4 years, Seth has coached the Essex League Lions Men to a D2 and D1 Title, including an unbeaten season in 2016/17. Last year he led the NBL Premier under-16s Lions from the sidelines. He currently coaches on the GB ASPIRE East programme with a recent appointment as the head coach of the under-11 East Regional boy’s team.
“I’m excited to join Coach Baker and Coach Malpass, two great basketball minds, at a club with an incredible heritage that stretches back to the 90s heydays of British basketball said Jones. “It’s a privilege to be a part of this great organisation and I’m looking forward to the new challenge.” He added.
Coach Baker had this to say “Having worked with Seth throughout Aspire programme it is clear to see that he has the desire to improve as a coach. We have had numerous basketball conversations and his hunger to know more about the club and to develop is what makes him invaluable to what we are trying to achieve this year. He will add a specific attention to detail that will aid the work Roger and I have done over the last few years and I am pleased to have Seth on board. I am confident with his help we can continue to improve as a team as we look to progress from last season’s achievements.”
