Sam’s up for the new season

Leopards’ guard Sam Newman believes his side have made a lot of progress during pre-season, and is raring to go for the new campaign:
“I’m excited for the season to get going because as a group we’ve made huge strides together in a small period of time with plenty of room still to grow” said the former University of Alberta player.
“As a team we already run the floor and shoot the ball at an elite D1 level but of course we look to keep getting better at that as this year goes forward.
“I’m most excited for this group to perfect the details to our defence so we can use our length and size to be seen as a threat with both offence and defence.”
Leopards open their season with a trip to Thames Valley Cavaliers in the National Trophy on Saturday evening before travelling to Team Derby Spartans in the National Cup second round the following afternoon.
