Obi’s the one for Leopards

Leopards continue to build their new-look team for 2019/20 with the addition of forward Obi Egbunike.
The 6’5’’ wing player spent two years at Oaklands College between 2015-2017 and was a key player in the academy EABL side, being a threat in both rebounding and scoring.
He has spent the last two seasons in Italy, initially with AD Salus Basket Gualdo where he was regularly the top scorer for his team and then went played for ASD Orvieto Basket where again he consistently was in double digits for scoring and was a leader both on and off the court.
Twenty-one year-old Egbunike is looking forward to his joining up with his new team-mates: “Joining Leopards is a really good choice for me as it allows me to combine my university studies with a high level of basketball” he said.
“The upcoming season will be exciting and a hell of a journey with the Leopards, I am looking forward to it and can’t wait to step on the floor with my new teammates”
Coach Thomas Baker is delighted with his new signing: “It is really exciting to see how our team is shaping up this season and I am really pleased we are able to add Obi to the team” he said.
“Having worked with Obi previously from his time at Oaklands I know he is a player who can play across multiple positions, he’s strong and physical but dynamic at the same time, his ability to the score the ball is unquestionable and he has excellent footwork.
“He will really suit our style of play and I can’t wait to see him in action when we step out on court at the beginning of September against Team USA.”
