Leopards look to secure home play-off berth

Leopards face a tough test as they look to secure a home play-off berth when the face Reading Rockets at Wodson Park on Saturday evening, tip-off 7.30pm.

With Manchester Magic having hammered Worthing Thunder on Saturday, it’s now a two-horse race between Reading and Manchester for the league title.

Rockets arrive at Wodson Park with a ten game winning streak under their belts, with two of those games coming in the National Trophy as they retained the competition they won last season with an 84-68 victory against Thunder.

Leopards traveled to Rivermead a month ago, and a poor display saw them lose 77-55 despite 17 Carl Latham-Henry points.

Rockets also won both league games between the teams last season, but a late Sam Salter three sealed a thrilling 83-82 victory in the Trophy for the Big Cats – the only defeat in 12 games Rockets have suffered in the competition during the last two seasons.

Coach Jon Burnell expects to a have a full squad to pick from, though centre Leigh Greenan is still struggling with an ankle injury.

With three games of the regular season remaining, the Big Cats need at least one victory to seal fourth place and a home play-off spot.
