Mixed feelings for Baker

Leopards’ coach Thomas Baker admitted he had mixed emotions following a weekend which saw the Big Cats lose at Thames Valley Cavaliers before bouncing back to win at Reading Rockets.
“The weekend had mixed feelings for me but ultimately we had a happy ending” he said. “Saturday’s game was frustrating, I felt we deserved to get something out of the game but still consistency eludes us and we got punished but a strong physical Thames Valley team.
“On Sunday we came out the blocks fast and showed we have the ability to play at tempo even in back to back games.
Apart from a third quarter spell where our shots didn’t drop I felt we controlled Sunday’s game very well and ensured that we went into the Christmas break on a high.
“We have shown at times this season we can compete with the very best this league has to offer, we must ensure we keep this moving forward.”
The Big Cats now have a fortnight off before travelling to league leaders Solent Kestrels on Saturday January 5 and Hemel for a must-win Trophy game the following day.
