Massive weekend for Leopards

It’s a massive weekend for Levett Essex Leopards as they travel to Nottingham Hoods on Saturday before Liverpool visit the Brentwood Centre on Sunday, tip-off 4pm.
Both of their opponents are in the top four, and Thomas Baker’s team will be looking to strengthen their bid for a top three finish. .
Saturday’s trip to champions-elect Hoods will see the Big Cats face a side who have only lost once in 18 league games.
The midlands side have twice won at the Brentwood Centre, dealing a fatal blow to Leopards’ Patrons Cup hopes in the opening game of the season.
The 79-73 win against Leopards in the Patrons Cup helped the midlands side reach the semi-final where they lost a thriller by a single point against Thames Valley Cavaliers.
The Cavs also beat Hoods by a solitary point to inflict their only league loss, but Nottingham did take a top flight scalp in the National Cup with a 66-63 home win against Division One champions Team Northumbria before falling to Team Newcastle University in last 16.
The Liverpool game at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday tips off at 4pm, and will be a key one if the Big Cats as they aim for that top three spot.
The Merseyside club are one win and one place behind Leopards with a 10-7 record.
When Thomas Baker’s side travelled to Liverpool in November a Bennett jump shot with three seconds on the clock sealed an 82-80 victory.
