Levett Leopards’ key Division One game at London Lituanica on Saturday has been moved.
The game was due to take place at 1pm at NEWVIC Sixth Form College, but will now tip-off at 5pm and will be played at University of East London Sports Dock.
There is plenty of parking at the venue, and the postcode is E16 2RD.
Admission will be free on Saturday and we hope as many Leopards’ fans as possible will travel to the game and support the Big Cats.
Lituanica head into Thursday’s game at Westminster Warriors in tenth spot with a 9-13 record but only have 16 league points after being deducted a pair for failing to fulfil their game at Manchester.
The Lithuanians have struggled with player availability, taking only five players to Solent last weekend, but they managed to bring a full team to Harlow Leisurezone in December and they finished strongly to win 74-70.
The sides also met in the National Trophy group stage, with the Big Cats winning a thriller 68-67. That loss against Leopards didn’t prevent Lituanica reaching the Trophy final where they were hammered by Manchester at the University of Hertfordshire,. In common with Leopards they went out of the National Cup at the hands of second division Kent Crusaders, with their 52-point loss the biggest margin of defeat for a top flight team against lower division opposition in over 30 years.
Leopards will look to continue a run of games between the clubs that has seen the visiting team take the victory in the eight match-ups between them. Last season saw Leopards become the first team in Lituanica’s four-year history – during which time they moved up the NBL – to win on their east London court with an 89-68 victory but produced a lacklustre performance in the return at Brentwood with a 51-48 loss. There was also a three-point margin when the sides met at Brentwood in the Trophy last season, with the Big Cats winning 71-68, while two National Cup meetings at Brentwood saw the Lithuanians record two narrow victories.
