James is the man for Big Cats

James Cummings has become the latest addition to Leopards’ roster, joining from Italian side Tauras Basket Jesi.
The 6’5″ forward grew up playing in the Italian IPA Academy with head coach Daniele Aniello. At the age of 14 James was competing in both junior and men’s competition with Ascoli Basket. Upon graduating from the academy, he spent the next few seasons with a couple of different teams competing at numerous levels with the Italian leagues.
“James is a solid player whose tenacity and athleticism will make him an asset on both ends of the floor this season for us” said head coach Thomas Baker. “I have been really impressed with his attitude and in conversations we have had so far, I can see James’ is excited for the season ahead.
“He adds length and the ability to play both inside and outside the perimeter and his versatility is something that we will be looking to utilise effectively this season.”
Cummings is looking forward to playing with the Big Cats: “I’m so happy to be part of Essex & Herts Leopards!” he said.
“It’s going to be exciting playing with a lot of talented players on this team and a great coaching staff. Going to be a new experience for me playing in the UK but I’m ready for the challenge!”
