Home sweet home in Cup

As Levett Leopards look to become the first NBL Division Two side to win the National Cup, they have been boosted by the news that they will be at home in all their games until at least the semi-final.
Thomas Baker’s team will host the winner of the Anglia Ruskin University against Essex Blades tie in the second round, with the game taking place at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday October 1, tip-off 4pm.
Anglia finished bottom Division Four South East last season, losing all 18 games, while Blades won the same division with a 14-4 record and have been promoted to Division Three
If the Big Cats are successful in that game they will host East London All Stars or London Westside in round three a fortnight later.
The fourth round would see Leopards face old rivals London Lituanica, Thames Valley Cavaliers or Middlesex LTBC on October 29 while the quarter-final would see a probably match-up with City of Kent Crusaders, Hemel Storm or Ipswich on November 19.
Baker is pleased to have been a given a run of home games if his side progress: “To have possibly four games in the Cup is great, and I will be looking to make sure we captilise on home court advantage.
“Performing in both cup competitions will provide with opportunities for us to put the hard work during pre-season into action. It is a great way to kick off the new season. Something I am very much looking forward to.”
