Darrell’s back for Leopards

As Leopards prepare for another double-header weekend, they have strengthened their roster with the addition of guard/forward Darrell Bethune.
The Londoner joins the Big Cats just under two years after seeing his first spell with the club ended by a serious knee injury.
In a week where Groundhog Day was celebrated it was a case of de ja vu as Leopards had to appeal to Basketball England after his previous club, Leicester Warriors, refused to release him. http://www.leopardsbasketball.co.uk/darrells-a-leopards-at-last/
Darrell’s first spell with the Leopards saw him become the first Division One player to be named in the BBL Team of the Week following the Big Cats’ shock BBL Trophy win against Manchester Giants in January 2017.
He was a key member of the Leopards’ side, and losing him when he suffered the season-ending injury in a defeat at Solent Kestrels proved key as they slipped out of Division One.
Head coach Thomas Baker is delighted with his new signing: “Darrell is going to be a great addition to the team” he said.
“His experience is going to be vital as we continue to make a play-off push and his ability to help us on both ends of the floor which make us stronger in games also.
“He has already shown in in the short time with us how he can help us both on and off the floor, and I think it is good for the organisation to bring someone like Darrell back.
“I am excited to see how this works out for us.”
