Big Cats look to end Cavs hoodoo

The new-look Leopards return to Oaklands College on Saturday when they host Thames Valley Cavaliers, tip-off 5.45pm.
It’s another key game for Thomas Baker’s side as they bid to avoid relegation, and the Big Cats have added several new players in recent weeks, with England international Orlan Jackman, Lithuanian forward Osvaldas Gaizauskas, Albanian international Elvishi Dusha and former London Royals guard Arron Williams all joining.
They picked up a much-needed win against Westminster Warriors in their last game at Oaklands, and although they went down 99-93 in a thriller at Hemel Storm last week, they now look capable of finishing the season with a good run to move up the Division One table.
Cavs are looking a good bet for a second straight top four finish following their promotion in 2018, and are third with a 13-4 record and also face a big game at Hemel on Sunday. While Leopards reached the National Cup quarter-finals, Cavs suffered a shock exit at the first stage when they went down 93-91 at Division Two side Essex Rebels.
The Big Cats will be looking for their first victory against the Uxbridge based side having lost the previous seven games since their first meeting in September 2017. As with most Cavs’ games, the meeting in West London was a high-scoring affair as a strong finish from the hosts saw them win 108-97.
