Baker pleased with win

After watching his side open their Division Two campaign with an 83-77 victory at Westminster Warriors, Levett Leopards coach Thomas Baker was a happy man.
“I’ve said this before but we knew we were going to have to dig deep in games if we were going to get anything out of them” he said.
“Going to Westminster is always hard and we didn’t get any help yesterday with some decisions not going our way but that’s basketball. We didn’t play as well as we could have done however we managed to find consistency towards the end in a key period that allowed us to stretch the lead to 11 points.
“This was down to mainly being able to get stops on a consistent basis which ultimately helped us to go on and win the game. It was the type of game we needed to show us what Division Two will be about this year.
“Step one of our 22 game Journey is complete, we will continue to get better along the way.”
