Baker happy with win

Levett Essex Leopards’ coach Thomas Baker was a happy man after his side defeated Ipswich 94-80 in overtime at the Brentwood Centre.
“It was great to get back to winning ways” said the Big Cats’ coach.
“After a tough few weeks and it was good to see us play the way we did in this game.
“We made a great start, showing just how good we can be when we are locked in playing some superb team defence. We passed the ball very well leading to a high number of assists which was particularly pleasing and we ran really hard getting a number of scores in fast break. We also showed tenacity getting after rebounds too and this showed at times.”
Having blown a 23-point third period lead before coming back to win in the extra period, Baker acknowledged there is still work for his side to do: “We can’t get complacent though, I felt we settled for some shots towards the end of the game which allowed Ipswich to get back in it.
“The guys showed the same resilience that got us back in the game at TVC to get us over the line in this one. An excellent recovery in overtime to get the result we deserved.”
