Baker happy with win

Levett Essex Leopards’ coach Thomas Baker was a happy man after his side defeated Westminster Warriors 75-73 at the Brentwood Centre, on Sunday.
“Not many teams will be beat them twice, so it’s a great win for us” said Baker after watching his side comeback from a 15-ppont deficit to improve their record to 6-2.
“They’re always tough to play against, and they used their size well to give us problems.”
The Big Cats’ coach had praise for two of his younger players: “Caleb [Taberner] did well inside, and with Jamie Rodwell getting a bang on the head we needed that performance from him.
“Shaq [Lewis] had another good game, he works hard and gives us a lot of energy. He’s tough on himself at times, but he played well against both Westminster and Middlesex.”
Baker’s side travel to face Derbyshire Arrows for the first time this season on Sunday before hosting league leaders Nottingham Hoods at the Brentwood Centre on Saturday January 20, 7pm.
