Baker delighted with Leopards’ resilience

After seeing his side move up to sixth place in Division One with a pair of victories over the weekend, Leopards’ coach Thomas Baker was pleased with how his side dealt with a gruelling couple of days.
The Big Cats won 87-63 at Manchester Magic on Saturday, and after getting home in early hours of the morning, returned to the court 12 hours later to seal a season sweep against Reading Rockets with a 93-78 victory at Essex Sports Arena.
“This weekend brought about our fifth double header in six gruelling weeks for the guys” he said. “We have had to battle hard to earn everything we have got and I am proud of the development we have made.
“To pick up our ninth and tenth win was the outcome over the weekend but I am happier with how we dealt with the long trip to Manchester and then the early tip off against Reading and still managed to play at tempo and put in a disciplined performance.
“We still have to tighten up in a few areas but our energy and our togetherness got us through and I will be looking for us to build on this toward the end of the season.”
