Baker and Hodges disappointed with loss

Both coach Thomas Baker and centre Lee Hodges admitted their disappointment with Sunday’s 75-57 loss at Newcastle Eagles.
“Last weekend was a real low point for us” admitted Baker. “We struggled to get anywhere near the style of play and the togetherness that had been part of our journey this season.
“With the regular season coming to an end it is important that we close this journey out with a run of solid performances so that we can build momentum towards the play-offs.
“It is crucial that we come together and hold each other accountable to standards we have set throughout the year and get back to us.”
“After a tough day at the office Sunday against team Newcastle, we dropped a game we could have won” said Hodges
“But more importantly went away from how we have been playing all season. A team meeting on Monday had us re focus our thoughts on why we are playing for the club and our goals for the remainder of the season.
“We had a good session Monday and we will have another good one on Thursday working on getting back to playing how we know we can.”
Leopards return to action with a trip to Bradford Dragons on Sunday before hosting Thames Valley Cavaliers at the Brentwood Centre on Sunday March 24, 4pm. They wrap up the regular season on Sunday March 31 when Solent Kestrels are the visitors to Brentwood.
