Baker and Duru delighted after pair of wins

After a weekend which saw Leopards win a thriller at Liverpool and an emphatic home win against Nottingham Hoods leave their side on the brink of Division One safety, coach Thomas Baker and captain Chuck Duru were understandably happy:
“It was certainly a memorable weekend for us” said Baker. “After a poor first half, to come back and win in Liverpool was massive for us and our survival, we showed character, resilience and toughness is what we have lacked at times this season.
“Sunday’s game gave me memories of our performance against Loughborough last season. The way we played, the unselfish ball movement and the willingness to find each other for great shots was outstanding, 37 assists, 21 threes and 62% field goal percentage says everything about how we played offensively.
“Defensively there were some moments where we still need to improve and tighten up but we are certainly putting a run of performances together at a crucial time of the year.”
“What a weekend it was!” enthused Duru. “Liverpool away was never going to be an easy game given the stakes for both clubs. We showed a lot of character coming back from being down 20+ to win in the last minute of the game.
“Sunday was a far better performance against Nottingham as we were able to avenge the defeat we suffered in our last meeting. We played superb offensively, with every player contributing to the scoring and exhibited some of the best basketball of this season.”
